What are the parts that make the whole of you?

It’s funny you go through life meeting people and living through situations, having experiences and generally going through the motions, yet along the way we pick up traits, ways to deal with things, quirks and baggage. We create barriers and boundaries based on how well we faired during those experiences. It’s a human thing, it’s just what happens. But I have a question.

Think about all these poignant experiences and think about all the people you’ve met who might have influenced you (and no, so we are clear we are not talking about “activewear” clad models with square eyebrows and Botox in their lips). I’m talking about people who swayed your decisions from what you were thinking about doing or saying and how that person changed how you actually played that scenario out.

Some people we meet are inspirational, some are leaders, some are true guides, some have experienced what we have been through and so it seems they have wisdom and some people just manipulate to get the result they want opposed to what is best for you.

I guess I have picked up some traits from my parents, my husband and maybe some friends over the years. Sometimes I catch myself and I sound just like my mum. It’s not a bad thing, my mum is a great human. So I’ve evolved into this version of Angie because of the people in my life. I wonder who I’d be if I had met other people with different behaviours?

It makes me wonder if I am truly me, or if I am a little bit of everyone else.

So I ask you. Are you being truly yourself or do you see other people you know in your behaviours?

It’s worth considering…
